This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Hey there again, sorry to bother you but I have just downloaded Terragen and am curious as to a good tutorial site on it, I tried [link] and they didn't seem to have anything for it, the the Terragen website itself wasn't very helpful.
Any tips, links, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
hmm, basically what I did was I fooled around with everything until I found things I liked. My first creation ever was a simple sunset. It's not hard to do a pure water picture so basically that creation helped me with understanding atmosphere and how to do lighting and clouds. Try something like that until you make a nice sunset or ocean scene or something. When I started doing mountains, I started simple (Automatically generating the terrains, etc.) and when I got good ideas on what to make my landforms like, I added water with the landforms. Eventually you can start making more advanced terrains or even, if you want, find professional terrains that people are giving out and use those to help with your pictures. If you need any detailed help on how to do specific things like rotating cameras, raising water level, adding texture to terrains, just message me.
Hey there KShap, I'm not sure if you remember me or not, but You told me to contact you if I needed any help using terragen.
Well guess what?
I do, but just a little bit.
First off, I'm able to adjust the sun, clouds, camera height and angles, and the terrain, the only problem I get with that part is sometimes the camera will wind up inside of a mountain.
But the parts that are stumping me, is how to add sand to say a beach scene, how to make a moon, and when I apply a color to a texture or whatever it seems a bit patchy.
So if you can help with any or all of those or at least point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Whenever u have seen a moon in a Terragen creation it is (to my knowledge) put in post-rendered (meaning added to the picture through Photoshop or something).
Textures u just have to get used to it also. Play around with it... I suggest you test your "tests"(lol) by (Im assuming u know how to make siblings and childs) playing around with different colours, childs, bumpiness, max/min altitude, etc and making a smaller picture render (to cut time) in order to see what it looks like. I also suggest that you use the default terrain first when testing as it is a really quick render even if you add textures to the terrain. If you like it, then you make the full render.
For your "stuck in the mountain" question, it's either your camera height off the ground is set too low for the size of ur mountains or ur mountains are too tall for where your camera height is set. You can also manually make the mountains smaller by using the Landscape View/Sculpt tool. NOTE: There are two different "fixed height above surface" things... one for the fixed height of the actual camera and one for the fixed height of where your target or "subject" of the photo is. Be sure that when your adjusting these that you are adjusting the right one.
I hope that helps you, if i haven't clearly explained anything or havent even come close to answering ur question (lol) just come on back and I'll be glad to help.
Alright thanks a ton man, and I will, I'm actually playin with it right now, the interface is a bit of a switch from Bryce, but hey, you can do some cooler stuff in Terragen (at least from what I have seen) so it'll be worth it!
I am currently teaching myself through experimentation and the use of online tutorials how to use Terragen, so it may be a litttle while untill I post any more deviations.
This is due to the fact that Bryce 5 didn't quite have the capabilities to do what I am wanting, however it is and will probably be very useful in the future.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
Cheers,
